While Manny Pacquiao regained the WBO welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Timothy Bradley, his mother Dionesia also made waves as she won the Internet with a classic display that only she could pull off.
It all started rather normally with Dionesia laying her right hand on Manny’s forehead while praying over him. Pac-Mom as she is often called has long requested her son to quit boxing. However, she threw a fit when the judges scored Pacquiao’s first fight against Bradley in the American’s favor.
During the fight however, things got really weird, really fast. Holding a rosary and what looked like a small prayer booklet, the devout Catholic mother looked like she was trying to put on some sort of curse on Bradley.
She was intently looking at Bradley with squinted eyes, pointing two fingers, then one finger at the undefeated American.
After the fight, Mommy D went up the ring to congratulate and even
hug Bradley, perhaps trying to say that the curse she put on him was
nothing personal. Mommy D was trending Sunday afternoon in the
Philippines because of her antics.
